A series of underwater nuclear tests spiral out of control, unleashing a deadly chain reaction that brings a long-extinct creature back to life, wreaking devastation on the city of London.

A prehistoric monster, capable of projecting electric shocks and radioactive beams, is awakened by radioactive waste dumped in the ocean. It wreaks havoc on the English coast, prompting a dilemma: destroying the creature with conventional weapons would release deadly radiation across the entire country, making it a prime target for military forces.
