Hildy Good, a successful realtor and business owner in Wendover, MA, returns to her hometown after rehab, where she's trying to rebuild her life. Despite her efforts, she's still struggling with her drinking problem and financial issues with her real estate company. Hildy finds solace in her friendship with Rebecca McAllister, a lonely and needy woman who shares her love for drinking. As Hildy navigates her personal struggles, she becomes entangled in the lives of her neighbors, including the Dwights, who are trying to sell their house to fund their autistic son's needs.
