The Impostor

A former soldier with a troubled history rebrands himself as a war hero, but his heroic exploits in Africa are soon eclipsed by the dark truths of his own past.

As German troops occupy Paris, a condemned murderer, Clement, escapes from a damaged prison in Tours. Assuming the identity of a dead French Army Sergeant, he joins a column of refugees fleeing south. When they reach a port, Clement decides to sail to French Equatorial Africa to join the Free French Forces, hoping to escape detection and start anew. However, as he gains respect and rank among his comrades, his past as a fugitive criminal threatens to be exposed, putting his life at risk.
