The Live Ghost background

The Live Ghost

A seasoned sea captain, initially dismissive of ghostly stories, must confront a crew crisis fueled by eerie legends and rebuild his team by covertly enlisting sailors from the dock.

A gruff sea captain, who despises the word "ghost," struggles to find a crew for his ship due to rumors of haunting. He enlists the help of Stanley and Oliver to recruit sailors from a dockside bar, using a humorous device that ultimately goes awry. After a series of misadventures at sea, a drunken sailor's fall into a whitewash trough triggers a catastrophic event, culminating in a classic Laurel and Hardy "fine mess" ending.
