In the summer of 1998, the Tour de France is relocated to Ireland, where a veteran Belgian rider named Dom Chabol has dedicated his career to being a domestique, sacrificing his own chances of victory to support his team's sprinter. Despite his success, Dom has always secretly longed to wear the yellow jersey just once before retiring. However, his dreams are crushed when he's dropped from his team, leaving him feeling lost and uncertain about his future. A chance encounter with a young Irish doctor named Lynn helps Dom to accept his situation, and he begins to envision a life beyond cycling. But just as he's starting to come to terms with his new reality, a major doping scandal rocks the Tour, forcing Dom back into the saddle and giving him a second chance to achieve his long-held dream.
