An Iranian couple, Ranaa and Emad, a performing duo rehearsing Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman", are forced to flee their collapsing home and rent a new apartment from a fellow performer. Unbeknownst to them, the apartment's previous occupant was a prostitute with numerous clients. One night, a client visits the apartment while Ranaa is home alone, bathing, and their peaceful life is forever disrupted.
