A young writer, struggling with poverty, falls deeply in love with a fellow writer at his boardinghouse. Despite his feelings, he's unable to marry her due to his financial situation, leading to a bitter outburst against God. Unbeknownst to Geoffrey, the prince is actually Satan, seeking to prove to God that he can corrupt anyone.
