In 1898 Nome, Alaska, during the gold rush, miners face claim jumpers stealing their legitimate claims. The new gold commissioner, Alex McNamara, assures miners Judge Stillman will review legal matters, but they grow impatient and want to settle disputes with guns. A ship arrives with Judge Stillman and his daughter, along with local mine owner Roy Glennister, who returns to Nome with girlfriend Cherry Malotte. Roy's gallantry towards Helen Chester causes a jealousy scene with Cherry. After their quarrel, Roy and Cherry discover Judge Stillman's team is phony, Alex McNamara is corrupt, and Roy's mine is about to be stolen by claimants.
