The Vagabond King

A notorious outlaw is hired by King Louis XI of France to eliminate Charles of Burgundy, a usurper, and his noble allies in a game of power and deception.

French nobles join forces with the Duke of Burgundy to overthrow King Louis XI in 1461, fearing he'll seize their lands. They enlist Francois Villon, leader of the Vagabonds, who oppose the king and rob the rich to aid the poor.
