Charlie's wedding to Josephine is about to take place on an island off the East Coast, with pre-wedding events unfolding at her family's lavish house. His friends Alistair and Cecil serve as groomsmen, despite being skeptical about marriage, but willing to support Charlie through the ordeal. As Charlie navigates the wedding process, including a stag party, rehearsal, and counseling, he begins to question his commitment to Josephine and contemplates either escaping the wedding or sabotaging it. This satirical film pokes fun at the rituals surrounding weddings, using excerpts from a fictional etiquette book as title cards to contrast with the chaos that ensues.
