A 24-year-old kindergarten teacher, Dorothy, feels unfulfilled and sheltered, stuck in her mundane life in Harlem. When a snowstorm hits, she and her dog Toto are transported to the magical Land of Oz, where she embarks on a journey to find the powerful wizard in the Emerald City. Along the way, she befriends creatures struggling with their own issues, and together they face the wicked Evillene, sister of the witch Dorothy accidentally killed upon arrival.
