In Cleveland, Nelson Hibbert, an executive, expects to be promoted to president of Nigel Industries due to his engagement to the owner's daughter. However, the owner chooses Ken Daly instead, leading Nelson to threaten him in front of the board. When he discovers the owner's dead body, Nelson panics, removes the knife, and flees the scene.
