In 1932 Vienna, Sigmund Freud takes on a new patient, a mysterious Count burdened by a centuries-old secret and haunted by the death of a past lover. As the patient shares his struggles, Freud is unaware that the Count is a vampire. The Count's wife, the Countess, is vain and complains about not being able to see her reflection in a mirror. Meanwhile, the Count becomes fascinated with Viktor's girlfriend Lucy, despite his wife's disapproval.
