Jerry Mitchell, a high school student, manages the student store at Weaver High. When troublemaker Buddy Revell is transferred from a continuation school, Jerry is tasked with writing an article about him for the school newspaper. Jerry's encounter with Buddy in the bathroom leads to a scheduled fight at 3 pm in the parking lot, prompting Jerry to search for a way to avoid the confrontation.
