A sailing vessel, Cannibal, embarks on a perilous journey to Mexico from the south Pacific with a damaged hull. The captain is tormented by a past tragedy, while the crew is desperate to alter course for Honolulu, fearing the vessel is unsalvageable. A passenger, wanted in Honolulu for a man's death, seeks to evade the destination. As the water level rises in the bilge, the passengers and crew must fight against the elements to stay alive.
