Ann Mason, an undercover magazine reporter, infiltrates a neo-fascist organization that recruits disgruntled war veterans with a populist message. She becomes secretary to the leader, True Dawson, a con artist using the group for personal gain. As she gathers evidence, she must evade suspicion from Dawson's enforcer, Fred Stalk, who is torn between his duty and his attraction to her.
