The film Seediq Bale tells the story of the Wushe Incident, which took place in central Taiwan during the Japanese rule. The Seediq tribe, forced to abandon their culture and traditions, are led by Mona Rudao, who decides to fight back against the Japanese after his son is beaten by a policeman. With determination, Mona Rudao rallies 300 warriors to take on 3000 Japanese troops.
