Wild Boys of the Road

Two high school sophomores, Tom and Ed, decide to leave their hometown during the Great Depression to find work, after their parents lose their jobs. They join a group of other kids in a similar situation and form a makeshift family, with Sally joining them along the way. Together, they travel across the Midwest, camping in unconventional places like "Sewer City" until they're forced to move on by authorities. Their journey takes them to New York, where they hope to finally find employment.
