Aeronautical engineer Ken Gordon and his mechanic Mac strive to create technology for pilots to fly safely during bad weather. Newsman Nick Williams' premature report about a long-distance flight ruins Gordon's funding, but introduces him to skilled pilot Shiela Mason. After Gordon is blinded in an accident, Shiela takes on risky stunt flying jobs to secretly support his research. When she faces a dangerous Moscow to New York flight and is at risk of crashing, only one person can save her.
