Women Are Trouble

The end of Prohibition sparks a rise in organized crime, with syndicates resorting to extortion and intimidation to force small businesses and individuals to pay "protection" money.

As Prohibition ends, organized crime flourishes, with racketeers demanding "protection" money from local businesses, using violence to enforce their demands. Amidst this backdrop, ambitious small-town reporter Ruth sets her sights on a job at a prominent city newspaper, but is initially rebuffed. Undeterred, she decides to investigate a high-profile murder, only to land a job at the paper after capturing a crucial photo of the killer. As she becomes embroiled in the investigation, Ruth finds herself one step ahead of the ruthless Casey, who is also closing in on the truth.
