Young Turks

A pioneering filmmaker chronicled the artistic endeavors of his peers in dilapidated Downtown LA structures over a four-year period, preserving their creative processes and surroundings on Super-8mm film.

From 1977 to 1981, multimedia artist Stephen Seemayer documented his creative friends in Downtown Los Angeles' deserted industrial and commercial buildings. His camera captured them discussing art and their experiences living among those less fortunate.
