Texas Ranger Ken Neville receives a letter from his father, accusing a neighboring rancher of stealing their cattle. Ken heads to the ranch, accompanied by fellow Ranger Ned "Repeater" Simpson, while his father investigates the real culprit, saloon owner Rance Collins. Collins, however, discovers their plan and kills them, making it look like they died in a fight. Ken, now undercover, meets Collins and pretends to be the notorious "Red River" Ganz, proposing a partnership.
