Mary Contrary's wedding plans are turned upside down when her fiancé Tom Piper is abducted by Roderigo and Gonzorgo, accomplices of the cunning Barnaby, who seeks to marry Mary for her inheritance.
Tom, the Piper's Son, is set to marry Mary Quite Contrary, but their happiness is threatened when Barnaby, an evil miser, hires henchmen to drown Tom and steal Mary's sheep.
