During a stormy night in the past century, a young boy named Babine is born under unusual circumstances. Despite his innocent nature, Babine is shunned by the community, who believe his mother's supposed witchcraft is responsible for the village's misfortunes. As he grows up, Babine finds solace in his harmonica, which has a strange effect on the weather. When the church burns down and the old priest is killed, Babine is accused of the crime. A new priest arrives, determined to punish the culprit, but Babine's mentor and friend, Toussaint, manages to save him from execution.
