A half-Spanish, half-American woman flees to California, only to witness her parents' brutal murder by a corrupt sheriff and his gang. To survive, she reinvents herself as Lola Belmont, a Detroit tourist.

Zara Montalvo, a woman of mixed heritage, returns to her California roots only to witness her parents' brutal murder by Sheriff Jim Harding and his gang, seeking to claim her family's hacienda and gold. Assuming the identity of Lola Belmont, she joins forces with Joaquin Murietta, who is posing as Carlos Del Rio, to form a group of outlaws that seeks revenge against the gang and restores stolen riches to their rightful owners, with the help of militia leader Dan Hinsdale.
