On the island of Paradise, a female-led society is struggling to sustain its population. With only two male births in recent years, a group of British airmen crash-land on the island, providing a chance for the women to find new husbands. The island's societal structure is based on a beehive hierarchy, with men serving as drones and being executed after a two-month honeymoon period, during which they are expected to father a child. The four airmen must navigate this unusual culture, where marriage is a serious business and the women are eager to find a mate. One of the airmen, a small but charming mechanic, finds himself caught up in a whirlwind romance, but his refusal to fulfill his marital duties leads to trouble. With the help of two of his comrades, he makes a daring escape attempt, but ultimately, his wife catches up with him and tries to bring him back to the island.
