In the bustling city of Beijing, a young man named Guei arrives from the countryside, wide-eyed and naive. He finds work as a messenger and is issued a bike, which he must pay for out of his wages. When the bike is stolen, Guei sets out to retrieve it, only to discover that it has become a status symbol among a group of rebellious teenagers. The bike's owner, Jian, is determined to keep it, and Guei's attempts to reclaim it lead to a desperate standoff between the two young men. As the situation escalates, the characters around them become embroiled in the youths' desperation, leading to a tense and dramatic confrontation.
