As a struggling film director, Don Tyler's health begins to decline while on location in Beijing. His assistant takes matters into their own hands and hires a down-on-his-luck cameraman, YoYo, to take over the project. The studio sells the film to a Japanese media company, but YoYo has other plans. He decides to throw a lavish "comedy funeral" for the director, auctioning off advertising and sponsorship opportunities to companies worldwide. However, just as things are getting underway, Don's health starts to improve, throwing a wrench into YoYo's plans.
