In this holiday movie, a woman named Maggie is struggling to come to terms with her ex-husband's new girlfriend, Kate, who is taking over many of the Christmas traditions and activities that Maggie once shared with her daughters. Feeling left out and replaced, Maggie jumps at the chance to spend Christmas with Kate's family, where she meets Kate's brother Sam, a charming and successful chef who is also the black sheep of the family. As Maggie spends more time with Sam, she starts to realize that he may be the one to help her take back Christmas with her daughters, and that they may have a romantic connection.
