Grafton Torn, a horror writer and filmmaker, emerges from a coma with a crippled leg and a significant memory gap. To aid in his recovery, he retreats to a secluded cabin in the woods, where he collaborates with a hypnotherapist and takes medication to reconstruct his lost memories. However, his efforts are plagued by terrifying nightmares that merge fragmented recollections with the characters from his own horror movies, which start occurring even when he's awake.
