When Redwood Federal Penitentiary closes, hundreds of prisoners are released, including some of the world's most notorious killers. They're transported to Santa Ana, a high-tech prison for the worst offenders, along with Ian Kelly, a terrorist bombings expert, Lorenzo "Enzo" Martini, a mafia kingpin, Karl "The Killer" Miller, a conscienceless serial killer, Tommy "Zimm" Zimmer, serving life for murdering his wife and her lover, and Luke Sinclair, finishing a 15-year sentence for avenging his wife's murder. As they board the train under heavy security, it becomes clear that an escape plan has been hatched.
