Detective Mark Ryan, still seeking justice for his wife's murder by serial killer William Charles Lee, is reassigned to campus police at a prestigious college after years of complaints against him. Despite his partner Chris Thomson's admiration for Ryan's tenacity, Ryan's new role doesn't satisfy him. When professor Arkin's nanotechnology research is halted, he secretly continues the project using a prison-supplied corpse, but Ryan intervenes too late. The resurrected Lee, now with an insatiable murderous drive, begins killing again, prompting Ryan to suspect the truth.
