A retired boxer must confront his own demons when his son's reckless gambling habits put him on the brink of financial disaster, and he must take drastic measures to save his son from himself.

Tom "Gunner" Grey, a former heavyweight champion, is struggling with his own misfortunes and trains a young welterweight named Bob Hill. When his son Jeff, a prizefighter, gets into trouble with a gambling syndicate, Gunner plans to use Bob to pay off the debt by fixing a fight and using the winnings to settle the score.
