A teacher, Robert Anderson, is forced to take a three-month vacation after being hit in the face by a student, leading to emotional distress, alcoholism, and separation from his wife. His daughter Kate is unhappy with him and he's struggling to connect with her. Meanwhile, the school's principal wants to fire him, but the union won't allow it. As Robert's paranoia grows, he becomes convinced that the school is under threat from a gang of hooligans, and he must find his daughter to keep her safe.
