Fabian: Going to the Dogs background

Fabian: Going to the Dogs

In 1930s Berlin, a disenchanted businessman is torn between his mundane daytime work and his thrilling nighttime adventures, until he becomes enthralled by a promising young performer.

Berlin, 1931, a city where brothels double as artists' studios, Nazis shout abuse in the streets, and film production is focused on "psychological cinema". Jakob Fabian, a doctorate in German studies, writes advertising copy by day and explores the city's nightlife with friend Stephan Labude. Fabian remains sober and distant, while his friend is passionate about communism and sex.
