In 1838, Tennessee, Polly Crockett, daughter of Davy Crockett, makes a living as a hunter in the forests, where she coexists with Indian tribes. While most live in harmony, some are negatively impacted by white traders. Polly, accompanied by her Indian friend Neshoba, visits town to sell her hides, where she meets Catawampus Jones, who shares a connection to the Alamo. However, tensions rise as influenced Indians, led by Prewitt and Redbud, begin killing settlers and burning down their homes, including Polly's, resulting in the tragic death of her maid Birdie, Neshoba's mother.
