S. Quentin Quale, a charismatic con artist, heads west in search of fortune, only to be robbed by two cunning brothers. They team up with an old miner, Dan Wilson, who owns a supposedly worthless property, Dead Man's Gulch. When the railroad offers to build through the land, the boys' efforts to reclaim the property are thwarted by the ruthless Red Baxter, who steals the deed. Quale joins forces with the brothers to outsmart Baxter and save the day, while also pursuing his own interests in the process.
