Horton the elephant takes on the responsibility of safeguarding Maisie the bird's egg while she's away, enduring harsh weather conditions and remaining vigilant. Later, the duo is unexpectedly caught by hunters and put on display in a circus. Just as the egg is about to hatch, Maisie coincidentally flies by and demands Horton return her precious egg.
