At a roller rink, three teenage boys struggle to muster the courage to ask out two girls. Meanwhile, other boys deliver a stolen car to a garage and whisk the girls away to a Disco. Feeling dejected, the boys concoct a plan to steal a car, get drunk, and cruise the main street. They pick up a girl at a pizza parlor, despite her friend's warning, and eventually reunite with the girls and the older car thieves at a stoplight. A drag race ensues, ending in a devastating accident.
