Indian Uprising background

Indian Uprising

A tense standoff unfolds in the Arizona desert of 1885 as Apache tribes and white settlers clash over gold mining rights, while the US Army struggles to maintain order.

In 1885 Arizona, a US Army Captain's strategic deployment of troops maintains harmony between whites and Apaches by keeping them off government land. However, mining interests in Tucson lobby Washington officials, leading to the recall of troops and the return of miners seeking gold. Tensions escalate when a miner is killed with an arrow, allowing whites to launch a preemptive attack on Indians, hoping to spark a US military response that will eradicate the Apache population.
