A young man named Birju lives with his family in an upper middle class home. Despite his parents' wishes, Birju is more interested in petty thievery and romancing a woman named Neha. When he proposes to Neha, his parents hope it will change him, but she refuses him and moves away. Heartbroken, Birju runs away to find Neha, eventually locating her and her mother in another town. He learns that Neha's mother needs surgery, and steals money to pay for it. However, when he arrives at the hospital, he discovers the operation has already taken place, and Neha is set to marry the doctor who performed it.
