Margaret Rockland returns to her childhood Washington DC suburb for a reunion, only to be surrounded by the cheerful atmosphere of Christmas carols, which clashes with her own depression. She's disheartened by her friends' respectable family lives and her former boyfriend's engagement to a blonde woman. In response, Margaret indulges in a reckless drinking and drug binge. She's joined by two fellow outcasts, and together they embark on a wild adventure filled with kidnapping, extortion, misunderstandings, and chaotic violence.
