Lula, the Son of Brazil

Luiz Inácio da Silva, later known as Lula, is born in 1945 in Garanhuns, Pernambuco, to a poor family. After his father's departure, Lula's mother raises him and his siblings alone. The family moves to Santos, where Lula grows up, and later to São Paulo. He becomes a lathe operator and union president, fighting for workers' rights and fair wages.
