Sam Merrick is brutally beaten by a local bully, George Tooney. In response, Sam's brother Rocky and friends Clyde and Marty concoct a plan to humiliate George by pretending it's Sam's birthday and inviting him on a boat trip, where they intend to dare him to strip naked, jump in the lake, and run home naked. However, as Sam, his girlfriend Millie, Rocky, and Clyde grow to see George as not entirely a bad guy, they begin to question the morality of their plan, while Marty remains resolute in his intentions.
