In the prehistoric era, massive sharks measuring up to 70 feet in length patrolled the oceans, their teeth as large as shovel blades. Imagine a great white shark the size of a plane and you'll have an idea of the enormity of these creatures. These behemoths of the deep, known as Megalodon, preyed upon killer whales and were the apex predators in the ocean for thousands of years. With fins as large as sailboat sails, their bodies were nearly impervious to attack, and their dominance of the ocean was unquestioned.
