My Boy background

My Boy

A plucky young orphan breaks free from Ellis Island and finds a temporary refuge with a financially struggling sailor.

A young boy named Jackie Blair, orphaned after his parents' deaths, is nearly sent back to Europe by immigration officials. A sympathetic Captain Bill, who is struggling to find work, takes pity on Jackie and helps him escape by incorporating him into a group of eight siblings, the Pinkosuwitz children. As Jackie settles into his new family, he tries to make himself useful and even earns money by singing and dancing with an organ grinder. Little does he know, his wealthy grandmother is searching for him and may be reunited with him at a party for unfortunate children, or he could face jail time for allegedly stealing her purse.
