In a remote Scottish setting, a potato farmer named John struggles to find meaning in his solitary life. While driving home on a dark road, John stumbles upon a car with a hose attached to the exhaust pipe, indicating a suicide. As he hides from an oncoming vehicle, his instinctual decision leads him to move the dead young woman's body to a shed in the woods.
