When his father passes away, Jonathan Breech steals his ashes from his brother's house. Feeling hopeless, he steals a car and drives off a cliff, but miraculously survives. As a result, he's sentenced to three months of therapy in a psychiatric hospital. There, he joins a suicide support group under the guidance of Dr. Figure, where he connects with fellow troubled individuals, including Rachel, who witnessed her mother's accidental death, and Toby, who accidentally killed his brother in a car crash. Through therapy, Jonathan transforms from a sarcastic outsider to a person who appreciates the value of life.
