Ed Blake, a middle-aged man, purchases a vintage movie theater, The Ritz, and sets out to transform it into a 1950s-style music venue. With the help of his girlfriend Nancy, foreman Bruno, and assistant Marcus, he assembles a construction team to ensure a timely grand reopening. However, unbeknownst to everyone, a disfigured giant has been living in the theater's passageways since the 1950s, occasionally emerging to brutally murder any vagrants or intruders who stumble upon his domain.
