A young girl's beloved horse, Gypsy Prince, is injured after a racing mishap. The girl's trainer, a boy who had grown attached to the horse, leaves to work at another stable, where he becomes entangled with the stable's alluring but manipulative owner. The girl, determined to nurse her horse back to health, eventually rehabilitates Gypsy Prince and enters him into a prestigious competition.
